Collectible ornaments inspired by The Met collection.
This ruby-red shoe celebrates a striking French pair in The Met’s Costume Institute collection. Designed by J. Ferry of Paris around 1906 for a voguish American client, Mrs. Abigail Kinsley Norman Prince, the originals serve as prime examples of high-end day shoes in almost perfect condition. Low-cut and embellished with a red bow, they were considered dressy enough for a wedding or dinner, but too vividly colored for evening wear.
